L3 Content Designer Apprentice

Seeking 2 content design apprentices.


One will work in Croydon Digital Services, supporting content design across the council website and on the Croydon Digital blog. 


Croydon Digital Service genuinely want to develop our technology setup to improve customer experience.


The other will be appointed to the Children's Services team, working on specialist content for Croydon's special educational needs and disability (SEND) local offer, the Safeguarding Children Board and other websites.


The purpose of these roles is to be responsible for developing and creating content that can be used across a variety of media including digital, social media, broadcast or in print. It will include:

  • create, iterate and manage user-centred content,
  • work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team to understand user needs and agree the right design approach, write and map user stories, design content plans, create and publish content
  • use analytics, user feedback, user research and other sources of information to improve content
  • work with stakeholders to understand their issues whilst maintaining content quality


Our ideal candidate will be someone who is..  

  • 5 A-C GCSEs, including English and Maths
  • Interested in a career in content design
  • Interested in working to Government Digital Service principles and ways of working
  • Interested in working in the public sector
  • Understands the importance of User needs and wants to develop understanding of user research
  • Has a relevant qualification or experience or can demonstrate enthusiasm and interest in this field
  • Curious about how people use websites.
  • Inquisitive about what things people need a website to do.
  • Interested in creating things which can help improve people's everyday lives
  • Eager to uncover a web user's motivations


As well as becoming qualified in your chosen area, you will receive a London Living Wage salary of £19,750 per annum, which is one of the best apprenticeship salaries in London!
