THE ROLE

 

In this role you will be carrying out administrative tasks for teachers across the Key Stage, being responsible for stock control of teaching materials and resources required for teaching and learning activities.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Supervising and providing particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
  • Assisting with the planning of learning activities.
  • Using strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals.
  • Undertaking structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responses.
  • Effective use of ICT to support learning.
  • Develop appropriate and positive relationships with parents/guardians

 

THE CANDIDATE

Requirements

  • Completion of Teacher Assistant Induction Programme.
  • Level 2 teaching assistant qualification is desired but not essential
  • GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths or Functional Skills equivalent
  • Training in the relevant learning strategies e.g. literacy.
  • First aid training/training as appropriate.
  • Understanding of relevant polices/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation.
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning.
  • Level 2 teaching assistant qualification is desired but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS check
