Course starts Monday 4th March, 9.30 am - 4.30 pm Monday to Friday. Classroom-based, Croydon.

 

By the end of this course, you'll have:

 

  • Understand stock control and the procedures for moving, storing and replenishing stock
  • Be familiar with the complexities of safe manual handling
  • Understand how to receive goods correctly and safety
  • Be able to identify different problems that could arise in the workplace, and know how to consider possible solutions
  • Appreciate what makes a good working team, and how to apply your own strengths to your role
  • Understand the process of sorting goods or materials for recycling or disposal

 

Course Content

 

Unit 1: Understand how to move, handle and store stock

Understand stock control and the procedures for moving, storing and replenishing stock.

 

Unit 2: Problem-solving at work

Looking at the different problems that may arise in a place of work, how they can be solved and the recognition of possible solutions to a specific problem.

 

Unit 3: Working in a team

You’ll understand the characteristics of a good working team, appreciating the strengths and contributions different people can contribute... They will participate in a team, whilst demonstrating strengths and the ability to value contribution from other.

 

Unit 4: Sort goods and materials for recycling or disposal in a logistics environment

You’ll learn about sorting of goods and materials for recycling. This includes how to identify problems with the recycling or disposal of goods and materials.

 

Unit 5: Moving or handling goods manually in logistics facilities

This unit is about the movement and/or handling of goods. It deals with manual handling and identifying hazards that might occur in moving or handling goods safely.

 

Unit 6: Receive Goods in a Logistics Environment

Learn how to check the safety of work areas and equipment to be used, ensuring that goods match information specifications and ensure that goods are unloaded safely in accordance with instructions.
