As a receptionist, you will be based on reception in our brand-new Crisis Skylight Building in the heart of Croydon Market. This is a busy role where you will be dealing with skylight members, members of the public seeking housing/homelessness advice, volunteers and a range of other individuals accessing the skylight services and courses.As the 1st point of contact for all queries you will need to be a friendly, professional and a calm individual with the ability to have a calming influence on people who are in a crisis situation. You will also be responsible for carrying out a number of administrative and housekeeping functions relating to the facilities and customer service within the Skylight building, as well as marketing the services and courses that the skylight provides.
Knowledge/Skills and Experience:
About youTo be successful in this role you will need to have both receptionist and administration experience, experience within a hostel environment would also be a distinct advantage although not essential. You will also need to have effective verbal and written communication skills and experience of working within a large team. A good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programmes is also an essential requirement for this role.The post holder will need to have a good understanding of the issues faced by homeless people, and the ability to deal with challenging situations in a calm and confident manner.
