THE ROLE

The Team

Spatial Planning involves two specialist teams; place making – contribute to Croydon’s design conservation and local character. Also:
  • lead on design and conservation input on pre-application and planning application processes,
  • provide design and conservation input to Council projects such as the Connected Croydon Programme,
  • manages the Council’s new Place Review Panel and
  • undertakes the design of a number of the Council’s public realm projects.
Plan making – responsible for the delivery of projects such as the Croydon Local Plan and the Croydon Annual Monitoring Report,
  • research and monitoring which involves carrying out land use surveys and regular updating of the London Development Database,
  • infrastructure planning,
  • provide planning policy pre-application and planning application advice and
  • Monitor, manage and assign Community Infrastructure funding.

 

The Role

To support the Spatial Planning team with:
  • administration work such as assigning planning application and pre-application observations to the relevant project officer,
  • managing and responding to emails that come into the Spatial Planning’s general email,
  • answering the team’s phone and directing calls to the relevant officer,
  • assisting in the organisation and delivery of any future consultations,
  • assisting officers with administration work for the Council’s new Place Review Panel and Growth Zone 2017/18 Public Realm Programme.
  • other projects and tasks when required by the team.

THE CANDIDATE

What we’re looking for

  • someone who has a strong work ethic, is able to pay attention to detail and is able to work towards tight deadlines.
  • You must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as having a strong interest in the role.
