THE ROLE

The purpose of this role is to provide the best possible shopping experience by exceeding customers’ expectations and offering uniquely engaging customer service, whilst contributing to an efficient and co-operative working environment, assisting the Store Manager in optimising productivity and minimising inventory and price change losses.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Merchandises stock efficiently in all areas of the store ensuring the highest standard of care in the handling, storage and presentation of products.
  • Checks product quality at every point of handling, removing any products that are not suitable for sale.
  • Rotates stock in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Manages till queues to ensure that every customer can immediately load at least one item onto the till belt.
  • Operates the tills efficiently and with 100% accuracy taking care to adjust scanning speed depending on the needs of the customer.
  • Memorises all relevant PLUs achieving 100% accuracy at all times
  • Engage with customers at every opportunity by saying hello, making eye contact and smiling.
  • Ensures the highest standard of customer service by adapting to each customers’ needs.

 

THE CANDIDATE

  • You’ll need to be comfortable with numbers. But other than that, this is about having a friendly personality, a ‘get-on-with-it’ attitude and a passion for the business. 
  • Dedication to the role (unlikely to leave in the next 3 years)
  • Understanding about how ALDI operate differently to other retailers

OTHER INFORMATION

The Store Manager will draw up the rota 4 weeks in advance and your work patterns will reflect the needs of the store. While we expect you to be flexible, we also try and accommodate your needs. 

  • Flexibility and happy to work weekends (our shifts start as early as 05.00am and others go on until 22.00, there are also twilight shifts that run from 17.00 – 02.00)
