HCML specialises in providing case management & treatment services to the insurance industry, solicitors and the corporate & public sectors; assisting injured and ill individuals to recover and return to work or to their pre-injury condition. THE ROLE

HCML is looking for a new Finance Assistant to join our team. At the heart of Finance Operations, you will have the opportunity to support across the Finance function, including the purchase ledger, credit control and sales ledger.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage the purchase ledger, including checking and uploading supplier invoices
  • Manage supplier set up and banking details ensuring appropriate controls are in place.
  • Daily cashbook posting including bank reconciliation and cashflow update.
  • Manage supplier queries and internal payment queries, including managing the payments mailbox.
  • Process and review expense claims.
  • Manage the petty cash accounts and reconciliations.
  • Support in producing the quarterly VAT return.
  • Ad-hoc finance duties, including supporting the rest of the finance team as required.

 

THE CANDIDATE

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Excel knowledge
  • 5 good GCSEs or equivalent (grade A-C)
  • Must have worked in an accounts department with accounting software knowledge for at least 6 months
  • Excellent ability to communicate across the business
  • High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
  • Confident with technology / software
  • Quick learner, unafraid of new technology
