CALAT is one of the largest adult education providers in the country offering more than 500 part-time courses every year in various venues across the borough of Croydon on behalf of Croydon Council.

 

Our award-winning provision has been delivering courses to residents in the borough for over 70 years. The programme includes a variety of recreational, academic, pre-vocational and vocational courses in childcare and teaching assistant training, creative arts, health and social care, business administration, ICT, languages, English and maths, English for speakers of other languages and courses for adults with learning disabilities.

 

We also work with businesses and employers to deliver training aimed at raising the skills level of employees and developing the workforce.

 

THE ROLE

Are you looking for employment as a teaching assistant or lunchtime supervisor, Childcare, Carework ?

Are you interested in gaining a qualification which will help you:

  • Develop Knowledge required for employment
  • Find out about and prepare for the demands of the level 1 in teaching assistant , Childcare or Carework courses
  • Prepare to work in schools as a member of the support staff

 

Who is the course for?

This course is for applicants that would like to work as a teaching assistant in school , lunchtime supervisor or other support staff , work with children in a childcare setting or working with vulnerable adults within the care sector

 

Course details:

One day per week

9.30 - 3.00pm for 10 weeks

The course will be delivered in a blended learning approach with some face to face sessions at CALAT and weekly class sessions on Zoom.

 

Fees: As discussed at Interview and Assessment

  • complete a planned online assessment for English and Maths
  • Following this session you will need to create an account on the CALAT website and complete your enrolment onto the course agreed.
