THE COMPANY

CALAT is one of the largest adult education providers in the country offering more than 500 part-time courses every year in various venues across the borough of Croydon on behalf of Croydon Council.

 

Our award-winning provision has been delivering courses to residents in the borough for over 70 years. The programme includes a variety of recreational, academic, pre-vocational and vocational courses in childcare and teaching assistant training, creative arts, health and social care, business administration, ICT, languages, English and maths, English for speakers of other languages and courses for adults with learning disabilities.

 

We also work with businesses and employers to deliver training aimed at raising the skills level of employees and developing the workforce.

 

THE ROLE

You need to be employed in the care sector for a minimum of 3 months and have a key worker role or be involved in person centred planning and up-dating care plans. It may be possible for you to join the course if you are working in a voluntary capacity and your role fulfils the qualification requirements.

You will develop your existing knowledge and professional skills through completing 9 mandatory units and additional optional units. You will have work place observations with your assessor and these will need to be approved in advance by your Manager.

 

THE CANDIDATE

To be accepted on to the course you must attend an information session, which will consist of an English assessment and interview session and enrolment.

The session will start at 9.45 and last about 2.5 hours .

Please ensure that you bring Photo ID and proof of income.

These sessions will be held at our CALAT centre at Strand House, Zion Road and you will only be allowed access to centre 5 minutes before the session starts.
