Production Manager

THE ROLE

Main responsibilities:

• Supervise and organise the production process of our fruit products (and others) each day, with the assistance of the Line Leaders. This includes reviewing staff working hours, start, finish and break times.• Liaise with the Load Controllers and the responsible Line Leaders regarding the separation and control of different types of products, ensuring that the volume of products is correct, including High Risk products when existent• Monitor van loading checks and product handling by our drivers during van loading. Liaise with the Transport Manager regarding any improvements or issues• Monitor customer complaints and feedback from our customer service team, and ensure those issues are addressed quickly and efficiently. Liaise on quality issues with the Line Leaders and QA controllers on a daily basis• Ensure you follow HR guidelines and report to the Human Resources any issues regarding employees that may emerge• Plan future staff resourcing needs and manage the on-boarding and training of new packers/other roles joining the business (production line, fruit selection, etc.)• Prepare and present data for weekly meetings with Line Leaders and Managers• Ensure that all aspects of the ISO 9001 and HACCP standards are being followed at all the times, and help enforce H&S rules• Strive to reach KPI performance to reach key objectives of the company• Support the UK Head of Operations with other tasks as required by the business.

THE CANDIDATE

 

Required skills:


• At least 2/3 years experience in a fresh food managerial related role
• Someone who is not afraid to take on new challenges and develop new managerial and technical skills
• Has a keen attention to detail, and a willingness to strive for excellence and constant improvement
• Must be energetic, enthusiastic and a driven person with a “can do” attitude
• Possesses the capacity to motivate and lead production and quality staff
• Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Excellent numerical skills and document organisation skills are critical
• Basic/Medium understanding of HACCP documentation and BRC audit standard & specific customer standards
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word

OTHER INFORMATION

Working hours guideline:

 

• The working hours are “night shift” Sun/Mon-Thu and Fri early morning
• The working hours are 40 hours per week, approximately:
Sun-Mon: 10pm – 7am
Mon-Tue: 11pm – 7am
Tue-Wed: 11pm – 9am
Wed-Thu: 11pm – 7am
Fri: 6am – 11am

 

Remuneration package:


• Base salary: £48,000 per annum + 5% annual performance-based bonus
