We are seeking a female support worker to help provide care for a 2 year old boy who suffers from epilepsy
The goal is to help him and mum access the community, on shopping trips, to hospital appointments, going to the local park, children’s play centre etc or help her look after the child at home with his health care, bathing/dressing him, reading stories and being a friendly presence.
The position is for 15 hours a week:
Tuesday 11am – 3pm
Wednesday 2pm – 6pm
Thursday 9am – 1pm
Friday 12pm – 3pm
(some occasional weekend availability may be needed)
Our ideal candidate would be:
• Very flexible with their availability, you maybe required at short notice.
• Experienced at caring for a young disabled child
• Able to perform oral and nasal suctioning
• Able to use a nebuliser and oxygen machine
• Experienced at nasal gastric feeding and administering medication.
Also:
• Be able to speak good English and have a clear speaking voice.
• Have good conversational skills
• Be kind, friendly and positive
• Have a good sense of humour
• Proactive work ethic
• Current enhanced DBS certificate
You must be fit and healthy, able to carry a heavy buggy up and down a staircase and manoeuvre the buggy on and off public transport.
