This job posting is for experienced health care assistants to provide care for a teenage boy who has complex health conditions, including epilepsy, cerebral palsy, gastrooesophageal reflux, and scoliosis.

The position involves a combination of school-based care and home care and you would be working alongside other carers or the family. The family live in a large, modern, specially adapted house and they have provided a separate staff lounge and kitchen for your comfort during break times.

 

You MUST have experience of:

•               Providing support to people adults with complex health care needs

•               Yankeur and Oropharyngeal suctioning

•               PEG feeding, venting, stopping and starting feeds

•               Moving and handling, using a ceiling hoist

•               Using cough assist and nebulisers

•               Medication administration

•               Completing charts and other documentation

•               Giving personal care

•               Working as part of a team

Other Requirements:

•               Current DBS Certificate - that covers child workforce

•               Good spoken and written English

•               Proactive and good work ethic

•               Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Shift Details:

•               Day shifts: 8am - 8pm or 9am – 9pm.

•               Night shifts: 10pm – 10am or 10pm – 9am.

•               Weekend shifts: 8 hours

•               Shift Frequency: Minimum of 2 shifts per week

 

Pay Rates:

  • Day shift: £14.00 (Tier 2) or £15.75 (Tier 3).
