If you are passionate about helping to end homelessness and want to support people who have recently suffered street homelessness in Croydon, then this is a fantastic opportunity for you.  It is a fixed term, full-time role until end May 2025 and there will likely be opportunities for extension.

We have a complex needs service in East Croydon and this Support Worker role will lead on the specific rapid assessment service we provide for up to ten customers in our somewhere safe to stay hub. The hub is part of our Palmer House service for single homeless people. Conveniently located, we are a 10-minute walk from East Croydon Station, offering excellent transport links across London and beyond. As a Support Mentor/Worker in our rapid assessment hub, your primary focus areas will include:

 

  1. Managing a caseload of hub customers while also providing support to your colleagues to ensure all customers have effective support which is actioned in a timely manner using rapid assessment/referral techniques.
  2. Work with customers to quickly identify the most appropriate housing option and put a plan in place to enable them access this quickly to prevent homelessness or rough sleeping                                                                                     
  3. The working hours for this role are 37.5 over 5 days Monday to Friday with start and finish times between 9am and 6pm.
