Our grounds maintenance operatives service the external communal areas of housing associations across London and the South of England to the highest standards.
Your role will be to carry out a range of grounds maintenance activities, including grass cutting, strimming, litter picking, weeding, hedge cutting, pruning, spraying, planting, maintaining flower beds and shrubs.
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Full UK Driving Licence Essential.
Required experience: Ideally 1 years’ relevant experience (Full training will be provided).
Working hours: Between Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent positions available.
Salary & Benefits: £12.60 per hour; 28 days Holiday, Pension Scheme, Full Uniform, PPE & Equipment provided.
Main Duties:
- Follow schedules set out for run assigned to your team
- Cut grass with a rotary mower or ride on mower (dependent on location) and tidy the area afterwards
- Strim gardens and grassed areas
- Weed spray with appropriate chemicals
- Litter pick grassed areas before cutting grass
- Cut hedges and prune when required, taking care and attention
- Sweep paths, leaving area clean and tidy
- Remove epicormic growth
- Leaf clearance all year round
- Bed maintenance and weeding
- Hardstanding maintenance and sweeping of kerbs
- Yard duties
- Assist with planting and landscaping projects
- Ensure that all Health & Safety procedures are followed, particularly those regarding the wearing of PPE when working, the operation of equipment, safe storage of fuel and chemicals and COSHH
- Assist with cover and workloads during bank holiday weeks
- Send in workcert of completed jobs and update schedules accordingly
- Deal with one-off and emergency works
- Sign in and out daily and report any sickness absence to your supervisor/manager daily
- Use Timegate; sign on and off for each job; take before and after photos of allotted works
- Ensure that all company procedures are followe
- Report on issues at sites such as bulky waste, ASB, Graffiti etc.
- Keep company equipment clean & tidy – clean all tools and equipment after each use
- Ensure that all power tools and equipment is stored safely and securely to reduce theft
- If issued with a company vehicle, keep it clean & tidy and carry out regular checks on oil, tyre conditions etc.
- Liaise with office staff regarding onsite issues
- Report all incidents to your Contracts Manager / Supervisor daily
- Complete any other work requirements as deemed necessary by the company/management
