You will play a pivotal role in delivering meaningful social impact across Croydon and South London. You will be responsible for designing and facilitating employability workshops as well as building strong partnerships with charities, social enterprises, and local stakeholders.

 

Your work will directly contribute to our broader ESG ambitions, while ensuring our Social Value activities are data-driven, measurable, and aligned with customer priorities.

 

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9:00-17:30

Location: Hybrid/ Croydon, but regular travel around London is required as well as regular visits to head office in Milton Keynes

Reporting to: Head of Corporate Social Responsibility

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • On site presence, primarily Croydon but across our London client base.
  • Responsible for creating and delivering employability skills workshops to different groups across Croydon’s communities, as well as provide 1:1 employability support to job seekers.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, charities and social enterprises, to help us grow the reach of our impact.
  • Support the Senior Social Value Officer on analysing data and reporting on our Social Value activities in Croydon and beyond.
  • Visit schools, colleges and careers events across the borough. Support careers leads in organising events for students.
  • Support and collaborate with our Talent Pool team by sharing opportunities to engage local workers.
  • Track Social Value delivery and report back to key stakeholders, including customers and the wider Workforce team. Work closely with the Operations teams to attend Quarterly Performance Reviews (QPRs) to learn from customers what their Social Value priorities are and how best we can support their communities.
  • Support with Matrix’s wider ESG ambitions by facilitating employee and supplier volunteering and charity events.

 

Essential Skills

 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence presenting both online and face to face.
  • Exceptional people skills and ability to build strong relationships.
  • Strong ability to multitask and prioritise workloads.
  • Experience using MS Office.
  • Happy to regularly travel across London to spend time on site, in our clients’ communities
