Croydon resident Agnes had been unemployed for 7 months when she came to register at the Croydon Works Office. Agnes wanted to find a local school catering position, however she lacked the required certificates and identified as having low levels of written English - this created barriers in her job search. With our help, she secured a Catering Assistant role with the Royal Russell School.
“Croydon Works supported me not only in securing my job, but also referred me to training to improve my English skills at CALAT and gain my Food and Heath Safety certificates to become a Catering Assistant. I found it difficult to complete application forms and appreciate the help from Angela when applying for my new role. I am thankful for all the support I have received to find a job which I enjoy and is going really well.
I have already recommended Croydon Works to friends. Croydon Works will help and support you to find a local work. I have found a job that I love, with the hours that suit my family life. I am continuing to improve my levels of English at CALAT and in the future I hope to progress within my role at the Royal Russell School.”
