Frankie - Electrical Apprentice

Frankie joined Capital Electrical on the 16th September as an Electrical Apprentice, he'll be working on the Formation Design and Build site on Duppas Hill Road in Waddon. This is a social housing project, building a 126 new build homes in the Borough. The project is a design and build of residential dwellings across 3 blocks, to include;

  • 97 apartments
  • 20 maisonettes
  • 9 townhouses

Croydon Works is helping Formation Design and Build to achieve their S106 obligations, taking Frankie on will assist with that. Frankie will work 4 days on site and 1 day studying at East Surrey College. Once completed, it will open other doors in the electrical field.

We spoke to Frankie and asked him why he chose the apprenticeship route rather than going to University, he said "I'm not the sort of person to work in an office, I like to be hands on, my friends are looking at University Degrees and that, but it wasn't for me. One of friend's Dad is a stock broker and he is following him doing that, but he's got to go through University, get the qualifications, hopefully his dad will get him a job, but even then he won't be earning any money until his late 20's. I can earn money now and get qualified at the same time".

Croydon Works has been happy to assist Formation with their S106 obligations, but moreover, it's been great to help Frankie with getting a great start to his career and we wish him all the best for the future!
