The SIA Door Supervisor SWAP Programme will give individuals the skills and knowledge required to start a career in the Security sector. It is suitable for individuals who are new to the security sector or are currently working in the security sector and would like to attain a formal qualification.

Entry criteria
Good written and spoken English skills are required. The minimum English Language skills equivalent required are:
Students will complete an English, Maths and Digital Skills initial assessment as part of the enrolment and registration process to assess suitability for the programme.
We will support students with any English, maths and Digital Skills needs as part of their programme.
Available courses include Bridging the Gap programme and Functional Skills for those who would benefit from English, maths or Digital Skills training.
Programme duration:
6 Weeks (including guaranteed interview and employer insight experience)
Attendance arrangements:
Homework and self-study:
Students will need to commit 8-10 hours a week for homework (assignments) and for self-study (reading, research, and e-learning).
Attendance special requirements (MANDATORY):
Security qualifications are externally regulated by the SIA. Students are required to attend 100% of the sessions and are not permitted to be late. If students miss a session or arrive late they will not be permitted to complete the programme and will need to start again at the next available date. These are the SIA regulations and are not subject to flexibility or discretion.
In addition to classroom study, you will be offered work experience on a voluntary basis, these opportunities will be offered by industry employers linked to the SWAP programme.
Programme start dates: 23rd September 2024
Enrolments dates: 19th and 20th September you will need to commit to both days and the 6-week programme.

Assessment/exam arrangements:
Multiple Choice Examination, Practical Demonstration/Assignment.
Resources or equipment required for your course:
Notebook, ruler, pen, pencil, and a device (laptop) for online learning.
*If you do not have access to a PC or laptop, access to PC or laptop is available at the centre.
Please Note:
PPE will be required for all practical and railway site training: Orange Hi-Vis Vest/Jacket and Trousers, Helmet, and Steel Toe Cap Boots. Students will receive support to acquire the necessary PPE.
