To work in the Council's Grounds Maintenance team performing routine tasks: Maintaining grassed areas, verges, beds, shrub areas, all areas of horticulture and arboriculture under the GM remit across all service areas (Parks, Highways, Cemeteries, Graveyards, and other Council and Housing Land and Schools).
You must be available to start work from the 1st of April. A driving licence is preferred.
6-month Temporary Contract via Adecco. £14.57 per hour.
Croydon Council are looking to recruit experienced Ground Maintenance Operatives to work from April to September.
You need to be able to start work from the 1st of April. This is a temporary contract managed by Adecco so please have full right to work within the UK.
Applicants with a full UK driving licence will take priority for these roles.
Main duties:
- Cutting and mowing Croydon's parks and green spaces
- Working to daily schedules
- Disposing of green waste in line with the Council's recycling policy
- Driving to and from various Croydon sites
- Following health & Safety guidelines
Candidate Requirments:
- Experience in the operation and use of horticultural machinery and implements
- Ability to perform general grounds maintenance tasks in an outdoor environment
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team
- Demonstrate good communication skills, especially with members of the public
- Awareness of Health and Safety.
- Demonstrate an understanding of equal opportunities and customer care policies
- Previous experience in Grounds Maintenance (preferred)
- Experience of performing a similar role in a similar environment.
- Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
- Right to work in the UK
- Requirement to work outside of core hours on occasions
