Oliver McGowan Training

To be eligible, participants must have lived experience of the relevant area (learning disabilities and/or autism) and must complete the corresponding course(s). Those with lived experience of both areas are welcome to attend both.

The Training will cover

• Understanding the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training and its national significance
• Co-delivery skills and how to effectively share lived experience in a training context
• Working collaboratively with clinical trainers
• Professional boundaries, safeguarding, and managing personal wellbeing in a facilitation role

Upon successful completion, participants will be added to the national NHS register, making them eligible for employment opportunities across the country.

In addition, all successful participants will be offered an automatic interview for a Band 5 Lived Experience Facilitator role with Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. These are full-time, fixed-term posts for 12 months, with potential for extension. While employed by Croydon Health Services, successful candidates will support delivery of the Oliver McGowan Training across the South West London region.
