Croydon University Hospital will be running two 'Lived Experience Facilitator Courses' at Shirley House, Croydon University Hospital, London Road, Thornton Heath, CR7 7YE:

 

- Learning Disabilities course: 28th–29th July 10AM-4PM

 

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis

 

All successful participants will be offered an automatic interview for a Band 5 Lived Experience Facilitator role with Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. These are full-time, fixed-term posts for 12 months, with potential for extension.

 

To be eligible, participants must have lived experience of Learning Disability. 

 

The Training will cover

 

  • Understanding the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training and its national significance
  • Co-delivery skills and how to effectively share lived experience in a training context
  • Working collaboratively with clinical trainers
  • Professional boundaries, safeguarding, and managing personal wellbeing in a facilitation role

Upon successful completion, participants will be added to the national NHS register, making them eligible for employment opportunities across the country.

 

In addition, all successful participants will be offered an automatic interview for a Band 5 Lived Experience Facilitator role with Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. These are full-time, fixed-term posts for 12 months, with potential for extension. While employed by Croydon Health Services, successful candidates will support delivery of the Oliver McGowan Training across the South West London region.
