Pre-Employment Construction Programme

• 37.5 hours per week

Our construction pre-employment course is a fantastic way of gaining the skills and qualifications you need to start a career in construction in London.

 

Our centres are based in the heart of major construction and engineering projects across London, including Earls Court, Stratford and Canada Water.

 

This course will not only help you build new skills in the classroom but also place you right amongst the action on a construction site, working alongside a workforce that will provide you with a true insight into the world of construction.

 

Following this, you'll receive a guaranteed interview for a full-time role!

 

Candidates must be over the age of 18, unemployed, or economically inactive (not claiming any benefits) to access funding.

 

Next course dates: 16th November – 4th December

Construction Work Experience Opportunities

Formation Design & Build have a number of Work Experience opportunities available across our two Croydon projects (Cherry Orchard and Waddon).

 

The work experience will be with our subcontractors who will also be looking to employ local labour meaning a Job Opportunity may be available for those who show desired skill set.

 

The Positions offer 1-week Unpaid Work experience, available for start over the next few weeks.

 

Ideal for anyone 16+ looking to gain some valuable work experience within the construction industry.

Runway Training are working with Croydon Council as part of their Trailblazer provision to support local economically inactive residents.

 

Runway Lift is a new programme designed to meet individual need, with tailored support to help you progress.

Work Experience Day - Software Development/AI Monday 23rd November 2026

As part of Care Leavers Month we are offering an opportunity for People who have experienced Care (Care Leavers) to spend a day to learn about a Software Development and AI lead by our contractor Version 1.

 

This day is lead by Version 1 and virtual/online.

 

 

Work Experience Day - Estate Redevelopment 12th November 2026

• Regina Road, Croydon
• Croydon Council

As part of Care Leavers Month we are offering an opportunity for people who have experienced Care (Care Leavers) to spend a day to learn about a Estate Redevelopment.

 

This project is led by the Council and built by Lovells. Lovells will be introducing careers in Construction

 

In person, lunch provided, this day is at Regina Road

Life ReWorked - Trailblazer Employment Programme

The Life Reworked programme (known as Trailblazer nationally), is run locally by the South London Partnership, and supports people living in the boroughs of Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth.

 

It gives residents like you the support, guidance, and opportunities you need to take your next step towards work. And that’s anything from learning new skills, boosting your confidence and finding a job.

 

PLEASE NOTE: You will only be eligible for this programme if you meet the following requirements: Have not been looking for work for the past two weeks | Are not currently in education, paid employment, or training | Not on any other DWP programme
