The role will focus on a number of areas including dealing with employee relation cases from start to finish; as well as support the Associate HR Director with consultations (as and when required), across all of our Company sites.  Travel to sites may be required on an as and when basis.  The role will also include carrying out and implementing HR projects on an as and when basis. 

1.     To support the Associate HR Director with dealing with day to day queries across all sister Companies in the Cathay Investments Limited (UK) portfolio.

2.     To deal with all areas of employee relations including managing disciplinary, grievance, capability/performance management, and absence management procedures. You must be capable of handling all aspects of casework including investigations, supporting and advising managers on the process, processing all associated paperwork to ensure legally sound outcomes.

3.     Support the Associate HR Director with consultations which will include support to managers with meetings, taking notes, and processing the required paperwork.

4.     To advise managers in all Cathay Investments Limited sister Companies and ensure that all employee matters can be progressed in line the employment law legislation, the employee contract, and/or Employee Handbook.

5.     Monitor and manage the shared human resources email inbox by responding to queries in a timely manner; and escalating any high level queries to the Associate HR Director.

6.     Overseeing and supporting the HR Apprentices/Administrators with ensuring that all new starter and induction paperwork issued is accurate and correct.

7.     Overseeing and supporting the HR Apprentices/Administrators with ensuring they have sent out reference requests; ensuring we have the correct right to work documents in place prior to the employee starting; and ensuring all new starter documents are saved to their electronic personnel file.

8.     Ensuring that all master spreadsheets are up to date and have been completed, i.e., recruitment and on-boarding tracker, HR tracker, Sickness tracker, clocking tracker, temps tracker, daily spreadsheets, etc.

9.     To process letters as and when required, i.e., probation outcome letters, flexible working request outcome letters, any family related letters, etc.

10.  To support managers with any flexible working requests as and when required, and ensure outcomes are confirmed in writing to the employee.

11.  Participate and support the implementation of ongoing projects relating to HR.

12.  Provide support with general administration duties as and when required.

13.  To work closely with our Payroll Team and communicate any changes to Terms and Conditions, so they can reflect them on the payroll system.

14.  To travel when required to sites across the UK, including South East, Midlands, Wales and Greater Manchester.

15.  To answer the general office phone when necessary.

16.  To conduct any other tasks that may be reasonably required from time to time.

 

Essential skills:

1.     A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a HR Advisor role.

2.     Experience of supporting with consultations for restructures, redundancies, TUPE, variation of contracts, etc.

3.     A proven track record of experience in dealing with employee relation cases from start to finish.

4.     Confident and persuasive when supporting managers when advising managers.

5.     A self-motivated and proactive individual with a can-do attitude.

6.     Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with attention to detail.

7.     A personal and professional demeanour and credibility, which commands confidence of managers and employees.

8.     Able to handle sensitive information confidentially.

9.     Proficient MS Office abilities.

10.  Drivers licence.

 

Desirable skills:

11.  CIPD Level 5 qualified or above.

12.  Experience of working in a commercial environment.

Experience of mail merging large volumes of letters.
